The Hanging

I was surprised at how well the crit went as everyone had said it was rough and to get ready for your work to be torn to shreds. But actually I got more feedback on the marked hanging than the crit. I had rendered and annotated my plan from scratch, but the greens were to close and the key still needed work. The hardest part for me is how you organise annotations and keys on a page so it doesnt look messy. Other than that the main points that came up were about getting more texture into my drawings by rendering over the top of photoshop fills, maybe with coloured pencils or wax crayons. I dont have time to go back and re do the work now as were developing our 1:200 areas, but i will take this advice forward into the development and work on my rendering style. I am looking forward to this next development of design although I need to work hard on my planting as its important to the design and NOT my strongest area!

1:500 after rendering and annotating from scratch. An
improvement but not quite there yet.

My first attempt at adding more texture into my drawings. I took the
original sketch and used images of planting and the clone stamp tool
to add texture to the planting. I bucket filled the grass so it would be
continuous with my other drawings and tried a new approach with the
people using the park.
